This week, we have a little bit more news about Jeff's Map Creator tool and also a little something about a fluffy friend who deserves to be remembered.
I'm mainly here for the intro and conclusion this week so I'll pass it to The Butter Apple now for more on his tool.
Jeff's Map Creator
Hello everyone, it's The Butter Apple here!!! I wanted to share more on the tool I'm creating (Jeff's Map Creator).
In the last Tuesday Topics, there was a little confusion over what this tool does so I wanted to help explain it better. Basically, you create assets in another program then import them into this tool. From there, you can build a map with locators, physics, roads, meshes, textures, etc and then export it directly to P3D files. These files can then be easily added to any mod you're working on!
If you're familiar with it, you can compare it to how the Unity engine works where you create assets elsewhere and use the editor to make a game with them.
Now, in the editor of this tool you can create "GameObject"s. These are basically containers that you add chunks/components too.
So, for example, a box might be made up of a StaticEntity, a StaticPhys, and a Shader. The tool will then convert what you've created into chunks automatically so you will never need to write any XML files or anything!
Another fun feature I'm working on is projects so you'll be able to easily manage different maps you're working on.
While the tool is still a bit away from the Alpha due to personal life stuff (took a break), I am still working on it! I'm hoping to have more visuals to share in the next Tuesday Topics but for now here's this:

This past week, Sparrow unfortunately lost a fluffy friend, Mia. She asked if she could be featured here in this week's blog post so she could be remembered by everyone.
